Carol Read is a teacher trainer, educational consultant and writer with many years' experience of working with children. She is co-author of several well-known courses for young learners including Bugs, the winner of a British Council Innovation Award and the most popular course for primary learners in Poland. Her most recent publications are 500 Activities for the Primary Classroom, which was Highly Commended in the Duke of Edinburgh ESU English Language Book Awards and Footprints, a brand new six-level primary course for children at a higher level.

What is the 'SECRET' of working with children? Have you ever wondered? In this highly practical session, we will look at a range of activities, such as songs, rhymes and games that make learning engaging and fun for children. We will also explore the value of enriching language lessons with links to content and culture-based learning, and establish criteria for selecting and sequencing 'good' activities with children.
